We specialise in education about the environment. We offer a wide variety of geology courses. Whether your interests are in the geology of Snowdonia or in the ecology of the mountain environment we have courses to suit your needs. Our courses are designed for walkers, climbers and mountaineers who want to learn more about the natural world.
Geology for the Mountain Leader
Dates: March 27th, April 14th, May 8th & June 9th
This practical field course is specifically aimed at mountain leaders, youth leaders and teachers who want to expand their knowledge of mountain landscapes. The practical will introduce you to the basic concepts of modern geology such as plate tectonics, volcanoes and glaciation and their role in creating the scenery of Snowdonia. You will learn to identify land forms and how they were made. You will also learn how to use geology as a navigational aid.
